Saturn Wins the Reader's Poll!

With 57 votes cast out of 238, Saturn wins the reader's poll for favorite planet! Congratulations, Saturn.

Mars came in 2nd place with 49 votes, followed by Jupiter with 42 votes. Neptune and Venus were virtually tied with 31 and 30 votes, respectively. Uranus and Mercury got very little love.

Thanks to everyone for participating. And for all you Saturn lovers out there, make sure you check out this great article from the New York Times on the Cassini mission.

  2. Muito interessante as semelhanças hexagonais
entre o polo de Saturno e as diversas coisas
    aqui da Terra!

  3. Saturn? Seriously? It's just showing off with its rings and all. But Mercury - now there's a planet. Let's see you stand right next to the sun and not melt. Geez!

  5. It boggles my mind that Earth isn't everyone's favorite planet. Earth has had such a spectacular history, ever changing, and always providing new forms of sustinance. It's the only planet that we know of to sustain life! That's simply incredible. I love our planet.

Then again, those rings are quite spectacular...bt those rings wont keep us alive! :)

  6. Oh, and I forgot to mention...if I had a second favorite planet, it would be Jupiter. Jupiter is Earth's bodyguard afterall: pulling all those big, nasty meteors away from us.

  7. Goodness...last comment, I swear! I just wanted to point out the hilarity of "Uranus...got very little love." Har!...for still finding 3rd-grade humor funny. I just can't help myself.

  8. Thanks for reading, Antonia. For the record, the Earth wasn't included in the options for the poll... I thought it might be an unfair choice. We should all love Earth!
